Consumers Energy Emergency Manager in JACKSON, Michigan

We are looking for:

The Emergency Manager will execute and support the delivery of the Emergency Management Program. This includes the development and maintenance of the Integrated Preparedness Plan to prepare the company for the response and recovery from emergent incidents in accordance with the Homeland Security and Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodology. Support delivery of the Business Continuity Program.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Work with assigned organizations and departments to create and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans.

  • Deliver FEMA Based Incident Command System Training and Business Continuity Plan Training

  • Support Development and delivery of companywide emergency exercises to practice responding to emergent events using emergency response plans, business continuity plans and the incident command system (ICS). Create and facilitate after action reports per HSEEP guidelines and support the tracking of improvement items.

  • Respond to emergent incidents at the request of manager, Organization or Department to support ICS Activations and/or serve in the ICS as Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Manager or Lessons Learned Advisor

  • Support assigned organizations and departments with the development of after-action reports following an incident, including Improvement Plan

  • Administer the Mass Notification System

  • Support and monitor the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program Requirements to ensure all assigned in-scope organizations and departments meet program requirements.

  • Maintain the company's Integrated Preparedness Plan and help facilitate the annual Integrated Preparedness and Planning Workshop

We encourage you to apply if you have ( an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered and reviewed).

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management or related fields. If candidate does not have a bachelor’s degree, candidate must have 8 years of experience.

  • 2 years of Emergency Management Office in the Public or Private Sector. Experience developing, maintaining emergency plans, conducting training and exercises.
