Turner Mining Group Quarry Superintendent in Jackson, Missouri

The Quarry Manager will provide leadership and management over site operations. These tasks daily would include safety, site planning, pit development, quality control and maintenance. This individual would also handle the implantation and maintenance of asset protection, financial evaluation, budgeting, and cost control, environmental, personnel and compliance with company policies and procedures. The position requires the exercise of discretion, decision making and independent judgment and experience state and federal laws regulating surface mines, yard loading, primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing plants, maintenance planning and execution, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Create, implement, and manage the daily operations of the quarry which include the budget, production processes, inventory control, quality control, safety and environmental compliance, and accountability.

• Ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high levels of quality.

• Maintain accurate records of production and ensure that all production reports are submitted on time.

• Implement and monitor safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

• Supervise site personnel and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.

• Coordinate and work with subcontractors on process methods, schedule and site personnel as needed.

• Review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources needed are available for production on schedule and within budget.

• Work with quality control department to ensure that specifications, material requirements and project data meet the requirements for compliance for the life span of the project.

• Gather quotes and create proposals for equipment that needs to be purchased for management to review.

• Collaborate with management on personnel needs for the recruitment, hiring and training in a timely manner.

• Lead all the shipping functions of the quarry including by river barge.

• Handles all work permits based on the needs of the quarry.

• Advise on a project work plan and schedule. Identify potential risk of production, materials, equipment, or other things that could cause a negative impact.

• Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Look for ways to consistently improve upon daily activities through methods and technology.

• Conduct periodic inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

• Notify management and direct reports of any significant schedule or project change and advise on solutions to correct.

• Maintain clear knowledge and understanding to implement company values and strategic plan.

• Performs additional duties that are assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety.

• Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment.

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnel.

• Strong leadership skills: possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality.

• Excellent time management skills: ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
