Nexstar Media Group Sales Assistant in Jackson, Mississippi
The Sales Assistant works within established Sales Department guidelines to maximize station revenue opportunities from an order entry, traffic and accounting perspective. The Sales assistant is also responsible for performing all clerical functions required by department personnel as needed.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Performs all clerical functions for the Sales Department, including maintaining files and other business records
Maintains awareness of the most current traffic policies, practices and procedures
Enters order, traffic and accounting data using computers, ledgers, orders and other resources; monitors inventory
Corresponds with customers and confers with coworkers to answer inquiries and resolve account problems
Working in sales avail systems like Wide Orbit Media Sales to update network prime and sports programming across Nexstar’s 200+ television stations
Generating audience estimates based on historical performance and market-specific trends
Creation of sales materials, including one sheets, audience trends, dashboards, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, English, or Statistics
Fluency in English
Minimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales or media fields
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills
Clear and concise communications both through writing and presentation skills
Organizational skills for daily responsibilities and special projects for sales team
Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
