Alight Workday Managing Consultant - Virtual in Jackson, Mississippi

This Position is for a Workday Managing Consultant -- Virtual with a remote work location in Jackson, MS.

As a Workday Managing Consultant (Total Rewards: Benefits, Adv Comp, Learning, Recruiting and/or Talent), a typical day to include the following:

Responsibilities:

Analyzes, defines and documents complex business requirements and processes relating to the Workday deployment.

Leads design and review sessions/workshops with technical and functional resources at all levels, including members of management.

Understands the scope and details of project plan and is able to identify and communicate the need for resources for tasks or assigned areas of responsibility. Manages multiple, parallel projects using exceptional organizational and time management techniques to successfully complete tasks in a timely manner.

Manages implementations through the various lifecycle stages, from business need through design and delivery.

Performs lead consultant duties on Workday implementations, responsible for the analysis, design, scheduling, construction and delivery of the Workday solution.

Act as a Lead Subject Matter Expert for the Workday Total Rewards team, expected to demonstrate deep knowledge and experience in this area of expertise. The SME will guide, recommend and lead the team through the project as it relates to this area.

Understands and educates clients on interactions between Workday modules (HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, etc.)

As a Subject Matter Expert, vital to provide guidance on how their area of capability can help resolve client needs and actively participates in all phases of the Workday life cycle.

Monitors progress of tasks against plan, and reports status to leadership on project issues.

Establishes and maintains client relationships. Communicates client feedback to leadership as appropriate.

Suggests improvements and proactively addresses issues. Answers all inquiries in a timely basis.

Participates in training and development initiatives to keep abreast of current trends and practices.

Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned, Q&A, documented deliverables, facilitation of Workday Workshops, and regularly posting best practices and knowledge sharing information to the internal info sharing site.

Understands quality standards for own work and monitors and manages work of team members, providing feedback as appropriate.

Completes assigned tasks in prescribed timelines consistent with deliverables and asks for support and direction as appropriate.

Understands the scope and details of project plan and is able to identify and communicate the need for resources for tasks or assigned areas of responsibility.

May provide guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to other team members.

Knowledge and Expertise of:

5 to 7 plus years previous experience implementing HR systems. Such experience may include Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, ADP, Oracle E-Business, Ultipro, or other SaaS software solutions.

Workday deployment experience and certification required.

Previous consulting experience either as an internal consultant or with a consulting/software organization.

Possesses strong facilitation/presentation skills.

Experience in transforming business requirements into complex system configurations.

Ability to be effectively and actively engaged on multiple, parallel projects.

Demonstrates ability to prioritize conflicting demands with little supervision.

Demonstrates strong work ethics, setting an example for others.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Proficient to advanced MS Excel Skills to be used to transform data. (advanced formulas).

Ability to travel up to 40%.

Workday certif cation at the time of hire as well as on-going successful re-certification is highly desired. Additional Workday certifications may be required

Education:

Bachelor's degree in technical, business or financial discipline or relevant field of study required.
