Who will you be working with?

Our Wabtec Young Touchstone team combines knowledge of our customers’ product platforms/processes with industry expertise to deliver unparalleled product solutions. Here you’ll interact daily with all support team functions to solve problems and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our customers and their operations.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions group, you will be responsible for Providing leadership and direction to the Maintenance and Facilities function of the Jackson TN location of our Young Touchstone business unit. You will ensuring the safe and efficient performance of the facilities and equipment in our operations. You will provide services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position will report directly to the Director of Mfg. Engineering and Facilities of the business unit.

  • Ability to lead in a group setting as well as independently

  • Strong Work Ethic and commitment to the business unit

  • Conflict Resolution skills

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; or at least 7-10 years related Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisory experience and/or training in lieu of education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of products, and procedures

  • Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve culture, and influence

  • Proficient in data analytics, systems navigation, and information management

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

What will your typical day look like?

  • Ensure unsafe tools are taken out of service.

  • Ensure that the associates have the right tools for each task.

  • Ensure that each associate is assigned work by passing out work orders.

  • Ensure that all work along with the work order are completed in a timely manner.

  • Communicates with off shifts about daily problems.

  • Ensures all team members are trained in at least 3 different areas of the facility.

  • Ensures work is being performed in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Must have a general knowledge of the entire facility and it’s workflow.

  • Must be a self-starter who works well with management.

  • Must be able to instruct and train other maintenance associates.

  • Must be able start and complete projects with little or no supervision.

  • Must help direct the daily flow of work (work orders, breakdowns, and projects, help with maintaining spare part inventories.

  • Coordinate and ensure 5S efforts are being performed.

  • Must have a good attendance record and willing to work overtime, (short notice). Must be prepared to sat in on maintenance meetings, discuss projects, problems etc.

  • Must be willing to sat down with venders or technicians in specialty fields to solve problems, to get the best service possible from our equipment.

  • Communicate with alternate shift maintenance team about daily problems.

  • Write maintenance requests as needed to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com .
