JPMorgan Chase Data Scientist Senior Associate - Home Lending in Jacksonville, Florida

As a Data Scientist Senior Associate in our Home Lending team, you will have the opportunity to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources. You will be responsible for understanding data relationships, designing efficient data models, and taking initiative and ownership of data-promoten tasks. You will also collaborate with team members to build out specific projects and continuously teach and learn new technology and techniques. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of various types of data-promoten Home Lending products/initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform data discovery work to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources to help develop various types of data-driven Home Lending products/initiatives.

  • Build algorithms to make joining datasets without unique keys possible

  • Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions

  • Create data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy

  • Think critically about headwinds facing the business and explore opportunities for analytics

  • Partner with key Stakeholders and Business to ensure their foundational data needs are being addressed.

  • Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with team members, both to build out specific projects and to continuously teach and learn new technology and techniques

  • Work independently with minimal supervision but high accountability

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines

  • Technical knowledge of data infrastructure practices and tools

  • Expert understanding of data structure and strong SQL - experience building stored procedures and troubleshooting data quality issues

  • Adept at explaining and converting complex concepts into digestible information to be consumed by audiences of varying levels of expertise

  • Intermediate knowledge of Machine Learning

  • Proven excellence at formulating, understanding, and solving complex, non-routine quantitative problems

  • Aptitude for learning new theory and new technology

  • Experience working with one or more of Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, Microsoft SQL DBs and intermediate knowledge of AWS cloud solutions (S3, RDS, Athena, Aurora).

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics / Statistics, Economics.

  • 5+ years of data and analytics, functional industry experience in operations, marketing, credit/risk, technology, or finance

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • 3 + years mortgage experience preferred

  • Experience with reporting technologies like RedShift, Tableau, SSRS, Cognos a plus.

Hybrid work schedule, no relocation support is offered for this role
