Air National Guard Units ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32) in Jacksonville, Florida

Summary This National Guard position is for an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2573000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard. Responsibilities As an ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-6641-10, you will manage allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and disposition of munitions. Manage excess serviceable/unserviceable munitions program. Coordinate scheduling of complete, custody, special munitions inventories and compiles inventory adjustment packages as required. Establish and maintain an effective munitions inspection program for all munitions assets to include receipt, inspection, stockpile surveillance and preservation, marking and packaging, and shipping requirements. Manage warehouse munitions stockpiles, maintain storage area infrastructure and facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure mission support. Store bulk stock and operationally configured or built-up munitions. Process munitions movement transactions. Prepare and schedule munitions for shipment. Develop, maintain and utilize a Master Storage Plan to the maximum extent possible. Ensure all containers placed in storage are properly marked and sealed. Maintain munitions storage facility exits, doors, door components, and locks in good working order. PHYSICAL EFFORT: There is frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, although there is occasional sitting down at test consoles or workbenches. It is required to lift, push or pull a variety of items weighing up to 100 pounds or heavier weights with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work inside and outside; in inclement weather; on icy, wet, and slippery ramps and work stands; and in temperature and humidity extremes. Subject to dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, engine noise, heat blast, intake suction; explosive munitions; chemical munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuating devices; liquid oxygen, fire or explosion of aircraft fuels, lubricants, paints and solvents. Risk of cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, respiratory irritation, explosions, and electrical shock. Wear of steel toed boots required, hearing, and eye protection is required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLANG BUS Code NG0523: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. The current exclusive representative is The Association of Civilian Technicians, Chapter 86 and the President is Mr. Robert Morgan at rmorgan@actnat.com. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E1 thru E8. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which has provided the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-10 Must have 18 months experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.
