Job Description

First impressions are everything! As a Tour Desk Agent with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge you have the opportunity to provide a welcome experience like no other. Your personalized greeting, care in Guest room selection and knowledge of the hotel will ensure our Guest have a lasting memory of their visit.

What you will be doing:  

Reporting to the Tour Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

  • Follow Front Office policies, procedures and service standards

  • Welcome, check-in and check-out guests

  • Liaise with tour escorts creating and maintaining a positive relationship between the hotel and tour escort

  • Ensure all rooming lists are entered in a timely manner and tour room assignments are reviewed prior to the tour arrival

  • Ensure all guest billing is accurate for tours

  • Ensure all tours settle their guest accounts prior to departure, with quick resolution for outstanding balances as required

  • Promptly and pleasantly handle phone calls and guest messages

  • Process and balance postings for each shift

  • Maintain Company issued float and balance for each shift

  • Ensure that the Tour Desk is appropriately supplied and stocked at all times

  • Following all safety and sanitation policies

  • Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous related experience in the Hospitality Industry an asset

  • Previous Property Manager, MFR, and Microsoft applications experience an asset

  • Computer and typing skills, approximately 40 words per minute

  • Professional telephone etiquette and excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

  • Highly responsible & reliable

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Your team and working environment:

  • Sitting: 5-8 hrs/day

  • Walking: 1-5 hrs/day

  • Standing: 1-5 hrs/day

  • Bending/Reaching: 0-3 hrs/day

  • Pushing/Pulling: 0-3 hrs/day

  • Physical effort: low, required to lift up to 30lbs

  • Environmental stress: busy atmosphere

  • Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel

  • Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
