Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing complex engineering technology support functions and providing technical assistance to engineering departments, districts and related personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support and assist engineers/engineering staff in the preparation, design, and evaluation of construction standards and specifications, material specifications and associated drawings for construction assembly units
Work collaboratively with the districts and other engineering departments to modify material and construction specifications as needed to support distribution construction and operation
Act with highest integrity during interactions with Cooperative staff, contractors, and material and equipment suppliers
Create construction assemblies and add material descriptions for use in construction design in accordance to the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
Research technical standards such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) to support modification and creation of specifications
Prepare specifications for construction, materials and equipment under the direction of a professional engineer
Provide reports by performing research and gathering supporting data
Assist management in compliance efforts with NERC standards
Operate computerized design and drafting software (AutoCAD)
Maintain, develop drawing database processes and associated software
Provide technical support/training for various internal departments
Provide technical and drafting support for the districts and engineering department
Stay abreast of advances in technology and software
• Maintain the security of confidential information

• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data, configuration or processing information
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
Knowledge of basic electricity
Knowledge of engineering and construction processes, materials and products
Skilled in AutoCAD
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
Ability to use computer systems and computer applications
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensing)
Associate degree in engineering or related field
Three years related work experience
Directly related experience may substitute for education
Have and maintain a valid Texas driver license
