Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is seeking an Associate Attorney with a favorite client in the Providence, RI area. The Associate Counsel will exercise strong leadership in shaping our compliance policies, risk management strategies and regulatory procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and existing products and services for compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

• Support teams to ensure compliance considerations are reflected within new and existing products, services, vendor management, and contracting processes.

• Act as a legal adviser on complex compliance issues, while collaborating and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders.

• Monitor and stay current with relevant state and federal laws to ensure company compliance.

• Identify potential legal and compliance risks, and develop mitigation strategies.

• Handle interactions with regulatory agencies and coordinate their inquiries and examinations.

• Create action plans related to external market conduct exams and internal audits.

  Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• A law degree and admission to a State Bar.

• Three years of legal experience, with emphasis on regulatory and compliance matters.

• Experience establishing a compliance program for a property & casualty insurance company on a multi-jurisdictional basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms.

• Familiarity with residual market auto insurance plan rules and regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Exceptional organizational and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
