Summary

Facilitate or co-facilitate the development of CI (Lean and Six Sigma) vision for a customer or department, and the strategy deployment plans to deliver that strategy. Co-facilitate continuous improvement activities in support of the plan. Build knowledge of specific Lean and Six Sigma systems, methods and tools. Able to work under minimal supervision, now in the form of co-facilitation and post-activity reflection.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure the execution of the continuous improvement (CI) goals and strategies for the operation and support functions in the organization

  • Ensure all activities for CI and performance enhancement are fulfilled in the customer or department

  • Work closely with area owner to develop CI activities

  • Support the adoption and measurement of the Systematic CI Framework Standards

  • Lead or facilitate the process improvement based CI workshops

  • Drive new ideas and improvement solutions with all area owners and deploy good practices to other customers/departments

  • Work closely with all area owners to create a culture of continuous improvement

  • Adhere to Reward and Recognition programs to motivate all employees

  • Support improvement opportunities external to the site/function (as required). This may involve supporting the delivery of training and/or kaizen facilitation at external organizations outside Celestica + other sites in the Celestica network that need help + global support functions within Celestica

  • Provide training for CI for Employees and CI for Leadership certifications

  • Work closely with Regional/Corporate Offices to comply with the policies and procedures requirements

  • Prepare management monthly reports and other site reports as required

  • Train, mentor and coach project leaders, team members and cross functional colleagues in Lean methodology. Including but not limited to VSM, brainstorming, 5S, process mapping

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Proficient in CI

  • Proven competency to deliver introductory training, co-facilitate kaizen events and more advanced training and drive business results through application of CI methods

  • Hands-on experience in leading kaizens on at least 3 different tools (such as fast change-over, cell design, etc)

  • Project & Change management awareness

  • Knowledge of personal computers and Windows applications

  • Knowledge of production operations and operator responsibilities

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines

Typical Experience

3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Should have a proven background in CI and chosen function of team

Experience in Lean, either in manufacturing or office environments

Typical Education

Bachelor Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferably Green Belt or Black Belt in Lean
