Location Description Post Consumer Brands in Jonesboro, Ark. is home to more than 200 team members. Jonesboro may be a smaller town, but it has a strong performing arts scene, multiple schools, and a diverse geography with sports and outdoor recreation opportunities for everyone. The Post Jonesboro team supports the community through food pantry volunteering and an annual toy drive during the holiday season. Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance on plant/equipment, so that production down time is minimized and efficiency is maximized. Additionally this role is responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required through our Safe Quality Foods program (SQF). The incumbent in this role will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality and environmental practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical problems of all plant equipment including mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Resolves problems of plant and packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors and AC/DC motor control circuits. Designs and fabricates replacement parts or equipment utilizing shop tools, mig welding, tig welding, presses and shears. Operates and maintains fire-tube boilers and water softeners. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as traps, pipes, valves and make repairs as necessary. Performs maintenance and preventative maintenance on plant chilling systems, plant and office air handling units, air conditioning, humidification and dehumidification equipment. Utilizes a CMMS for maintaining parts inventory, purchasing and/or requesting replacement parts, writing work order and planning jobs. Identify and solve mechanical, electrical and electronic plant or equipment problems; perform repairs safely and cost effectively on a timely basis. Provide input into engineering designs, e.g. electrical or electronic systems or changes for practicality and convenience. Performs other related job duties as assigned. Qualifications Schedule: 6pm-6am, 4 on 4 off $29.30 - $38.65 per hour HS Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years vocational training in maintenance mechanics preferred (including hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, electronics and programmable computers). 5 years’ experience in plant and production equipment maintenance including mechanical, electrical, and electronic repair required. Experience operating utility equipment (i.e. compressors, boilers, chillers, HVAC, cooling towers, etc.) is desired. Required abilities/qualifications: Operate machine tools, powers tools, and packaging equipment. Read, write and communicate in English. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Become certified to operate a forklift. Become certified to work with a variety of welding equipment. Troubleshoot plant and production equipment problems (mechanical, electrical and electronic) Work closely with other team members to share responsibilities and solve problems. Perform work in a self-directed manner. Preferred abilities/qualifications: State boilers, electrical and HVAC licenses. PLC Programming (Allen Bradley Systems): troubleshoot and program programmable logic controllers and associate software. Familiarity with computers, electronics, electronic test equipment and multimeters. Knowledge of food production machinery operation and maintenance.
