In this vital role you will be accountable for handling & coordinate the safe and compliant execution of capital projects from the feasibility phase to project handover to operations. Oversees and coordinates the Commissioning & Qualifications (C&Q) activities in a project. Responsible for planning, executing, and documenting the C&Q deliverables in compliance with the applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines. Communicate and collaborate with the project team, client, vendors, and regulators to ensure that the project objectives and expectations are met. This role will be reporting to the business unit Engineering Projects Sr Mgr under the Capital Projects organization.

Specific Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate & assess quality of project deliverables in alignment with the scope of work.

  • May lead resources and external workers and act as Engagement Manager to coordinate/assess the quality and compliance of overall project deliverables performed by vendors, service providers and/or project-based workers.

  • Accountable for the management of the project's full cycle: planning, implementation, monitoring, and completion.

  • Support project funding process (ILM) and alignment with sponsor goals.

  • Manage challenging timelines and prioritize critical tasks.

  • Establish and achieve project standards for work quality and quantity.

  • Drive alignment of C&Q requirements with Engineering and Construction.

  • Ensure adherence to engineering specifications.

  • Assess project issues and develop solutions to meet scientific, efficiency, quality, and client happiness goals.

  • Assist in technical, financial, and interpersonal issues, coordinating and tracking project budget(s).

  • Identify and anticipate schedule slips or changes and analyze the costs and resource impact.

  • Implement tools, techniques, and processes to provide or create information to enable informed decision-making.

  • Ensure the project goals and objects are well understood by the various functional areas.

  • Liaison with department staff, sub or satellite team leaders, and members to obtain their continued input and feedback.

  • Lead all aspects of the master project plan and schedule for assigned projects.

  • Recommend and develop operational or process improvements.

  • Identify or lead focus area projects within the overall function or related projects.

  • Generate periodic updates and prepare formal presentations for different forums.

  • To accomplish domestic (may also involve international) regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure project work aligns with practices, policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Participate in required meetings, activities, and related projects and meaningful interdepartmental activities.

  • Anticipate resource needs and communicate to management sponsors.

  • Defining and managing the C&Q scope, budget, and resources for capital projects.

  • Establishing and implementing the C&Q procedures, protocols, and reports strategies.

  • Coordinating and supervising the C&Q execution, including the factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), and performance qualification (PQ).

  • Managing and resolving the C&Q issues, deviations, and changes.

  • Providing training, guidance, and support to others.

  • Ensure that the facility, system, or equipment is fit for its intended use and meets the user requirements and specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of project management experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years project management experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 8 years of project management experience

OR

High School diploma / GED and 10 years of project management experience

Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:

  • Strong project management leading experience.

  • Capital project management and validation combined experience.

  • Experience of commissioning and qualification (C&Q) of facilities or equipment.

  • Skills in balancing multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in working with multiple priorities simultaneously in a team matrix environment.

  • Practical project management software and spreadsheet skills.

  • Proficient computer operation skills.

  • Experience with effective interactions working in teams and with different functional areas.

  • Strong English writing and speaking communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing (Filling/Inspection/Packaging) equipment and/or projects related to procurement and installation.
