Shop Assistant - Juneau, AK

This is a land-based position located in Juneau, AK.

Here’s a summary of what our Juneau Transportation team is looking for in its Shop Assistant. Is this you?

Responsibilities:, AK

  • Cleans and maintains maintenance facilities and areas according to established company standards.

  • Works under close supervision to support maintenance staff with maintenance operations.

  • Assist with keeping maintenance facilities clean and safe.

  • Assists with fueling and cleaning equipment.

  • Assist mechanics with various maintenance duties.

  • Gather parts and supplies as needed by the maintenance staff.

  • Applies federal, state, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Perform duties to assist with shipping and receiving as needed.

  • Performs maintenance duties required by departmental supervision.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.

  • Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.

  • Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

  • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized inventory systems

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to accuracy and detail, while working in a team or group environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees, and management.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.

  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and compliance with company health and safety standards.

  • Preferred previous experience in maintenance positions.

  • Knowledge of mechanic’s hand tools is preferred.

  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds is preferred.
