Express Employment Professionals is hiring for an “Ophthalmic Assistant” for a local Flathead Valley company!  Work schedule; Monday to Friday; 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM  Responsibilities: Work directly with patients and Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. Gather info and perform a series of tests on the patient to prepare them to see the doctor. This includes: Review of the patient’s past and present history Current medications Reason for their visitChecking vision distance and near Checking the patient's pupils for reaction and any abnormalities Performing a brief confrontation visual field test and motilityRefracting Instilling eye dropsUsing a microscope Checking pressuresPerforming diagnostic testsDilating   Additional duties include: Coordinating patient scheduling, general office duties, assisting patients who are wheelchair-bound, assisting with paperwork, learning several different instruments/equipment, prepping the patient for laser treatments, and preparing patients for injections in the eye and in-office minor surgeries.
