Overall Career Summary:

The CNC machinist / experienced operator(s) conduct the manufacturing of railroad track materials via various stations within the shop.

This position works at various CNC 3 and 5 axle machines. This position multitasks, collaborates with others, communicates with other work groups, and assists in projects as needed throughout the shop setting.

Requirements Primary Responsibilities:

• Utilize machines at various stations to complete a rail product
• Program CNC software and manage production from machine
• Troubleshoot any issues - inspect quality of finished product
• Utilize manual tools and equipment as needed
• Read work orders
• Read blue prints Read plans for machine specifications and product output

Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
• Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory
• Experience using a tape measure
• Experience communicating with others within a team setting
• Experience in labor within a heavy industry
• Ability to read and understand G-code GED / High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous CNC machine experience

OSHA knowledge / certifications

Physical Requirements:

• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
• Must be able to lift and carry and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day
