The Emergency Preparedness Manager at our hospitals at St. Joseph Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing emergency preparedness programs. This role acts as a crucial liaison between clinical and non-clinical teams at each location, ensuring that our hospitals are well-prepared for various emergencies and disasters. The position requires collaboration with federal, state, and local agencies to maintain compliance with emergency management standards and best practices.
They will oversee the hospital’s response efforts during actual emergencies, collaborating with the staff during any Hazmat occurrences. This individual will be responsible for coordinating post-incident recovery efforts, ensuring a swift return to normal operations. They will also be attending local emergency management meetings, serving as the main point of contact with local emergency management organizations, public health officials, and other relevant entities.
As you would expect, this individual will need to be familiar with emergency management in a hospital environment and be able to plan and execute regular emergency drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of preparedness plans.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.2. Two or more years of relevant experience in a healthcare background preferred.3. Certification for ICS/NIMS and HICS within 6 months of hire
