UMB Bank IT Manager, MS Technologies (Hybrid) in Kansas City, Missouri

The Windows & Automation team is responsible for design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of our Windows Server environment. The team consists of engineers that are subject matter experts for Windows Server, Active Directory, DFS/File Servers, SCCM and SCOM. Their diligence ensures these systems are running at peak performance to avoid any business disruptions.

As the IT Manager , you will lead and oversee the daily operations of the enterprise Windows Server-based infrastructure team. This includes developing both long-term and short-term infrastructure strategies and overseeing its implementations. You will also be researching, creating, and implementing various cost-saving measures for the organization. You will also be focusing on the management and development of the associates serving as the people leader for the team.

This role is hybrid (Tue thru Thu on-site) at the UMB Tech Center located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the team and which also includes managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Managing the development of the individuals on the team by providing coaching through listening and timely feedback.

  • Setting challenging yet attainable goals for team members and managing their performance. This includes requesting, managing and monitoring the team members’ work efforts. Understanding quality versus quantity is most important.

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for areas of responsibility and endpoint infrastructure support.

  • Participating in the budget process and maintaining a budgetary awareness.

  • Understanding the risk and impact to the business while recommending risk mitigation strategies and options to be considered.

We’re excited to talk with you if:

  • You have a college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and at least 3 years of technical work experience OR a combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in management, supervisory or team lead capacity leading teams supporting Microsoft server-based solutions including:

  • Windows Server

  • Active Directory

  • System Center Management

  • Azure/AWS cloud offerings including hybrid solutions on-premise

  • You have knowledge of virtualization solutions specifically VMware.

  • You have knowledge of information security best practices.

  • You have experience working in an environment that follows strict change management.

Bonus Points If:

  • You have experience within the banking and/or financial services industry.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $83,200.00 - Maximum: $214,560.00

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
