Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Loan Funder in Kingston, New York

We are currently recruiting for a Loan Funder to work in our Consumer Lending department. This individual will be responsible for assisting members with their loan applications, assisting loan officers, lending staff and indirect dealers with the completion and processing of loan documents, as well as making loan disbursements. and being able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a pressured environment.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Reviewing and booking loans using documentation within the consumer lending policies and procedures assuring compliance.Supporting members, dealers, and employees with loan status information, which includes providing information regarding coupon books, loan history, payment changes, etc. as required.Reviewing loan documentation to ensure proper auditing prior to funding, and utilizing daily loan reports, and assisting lending personnel in Velocity maintenance of work queues.Performance Measurements include:Assuring member service is top priority, which includes treating members and other employees professionally with courtesy and respect, and to uphold MHV's Guiding Principles.Supporting lending personnel and dealer funding requirements and recommending changes to the lending process to continually improve efficiencies.Retaining consumer and indirect business by providing exceptional member service.Acting as a good team player, which includes maintaining a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers, and promoting a positive, productive and supportive work environment.Having a thorough knowledge of the job, and rarely needing to ask questions. Staying abreast of current trends affecting the financial services industry, and having an overall knowledge of the credit union, its policies and procedures. Continually expanding knowledge and developing skills.Knowledge and Skills:One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.A high school education or GED.Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.Must have good communication skills. 10-key calculator, typewriter, and keyboard skills.Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. and be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required.Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators and routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. This also includes being able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance, and be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team and being able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. This also includes being able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence and must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace, as well as be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.Work is generally performed within an office environment, primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
