Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Records Specialist in Kingston, New York

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Records Specialist to work in our Document & Delivery department. The role of this position is to maintain records within guidelines of the Board approved Records Retention Policy, complete information requests and provide support to the mailroom function as needed. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks at once. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing documents (statements, loans, mortgage files, check copies etc.) as requested for staff, subpoenas/medicaids and auditors. Completing data entry on Records Log and preparing mortgages to be sent to Iron Mountain.Performing quality control of items sent to Iron Mountain & assisting with the review of stored records.Providing support of mail room functions as needed to include courier duties and properly maintain systems.Keeping management and other appropriate personnel informed of issues that may affect the department.Performance Measurements include:Assuring member service is top priority, which includes treating members and other employees professionally with courtesy and respect and upholding MHV Service StandardsAccurately completing information requests in a timely manner.Maintaining credit union records within the guidelines of the approved retention schedule, which includes assisting with the review and removal/destruction of records from active storage as prescribed in the retentionMaintaining equipment and system in good working condition.Maintaining an overall knowledge of the credit union, its policies and procedures, and expanding knowledge and developing skills within the area of records management.Knowledge and Skills:One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.A high school education or GED.Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.Must have valid driver's license and be able to operate the credit union vehicle and travel independently.Knowledge of computers and data entry skills; use of office equipment (copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, etc.)Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required.Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6 8 hours per day, when necessary.Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.Work is generally performed within an office environment, primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
