Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Kodiak, Personnel Support Department, in Kodiak, AK. Responsibilities In this position as a Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operator), you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and operator tasks in accomplishing the mission of Morale, Well-Being and Recreation Division. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include: Receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse, shipping and receiving, or storage yard, moving equipment, and delivering supplies. Keeping transfer records and history file of property transfers. Marking stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools or other labeling equipment. Developing and updating electronic inventories of all items received and stored in warehouse. Determining proper storage methods, identification, and stock location. Operating gasoline or electric powered trucks, cars, or tractors and transporting materials between loading, processing, and storage areas. Ensuring MWR vehicles, generators, fuel tanks, (and other equipment) receives scheduled refueling and service maintenance. Regularly and routinely operates a pick-up truck or similar vehicle over state roads at highway speeds to pick up and deliver supplies and equipment. Hooking tow trucks to trailer hitches and fastening attachments, such as graders, plows, rollers, and winch cables to tractors, using hitch pins. Requirements Conditions of Employment Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to obtain a Class A State of Alaska drivers license . Must have or be able to obtain a State of Alaska drivers license. This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). U.S. Citizenship is required.
