Make an Impact with our Network Operations Team

As a Platform Operations Engineer intern you will work as a of part Akamai Network Operations Command Center and will be involved in monitoring of all the servers in Akamai Intelligent Platform. You will collaborate with many internal teams to solve the problems from different areas: starting from hardware or software related issues to advance connectivity issues.

As a participant in our programs, you will gain valuable experience and contribute meaningful project work. You will have the opportunity to join us for training, networking events, and engagements with company leadership. Our internships are open to students and graduates.

Start: July 1st

Duration: 6 months

Salary: 5000-7000 PLN gross/month

You will be trained to execute systems and processes to monitor and maintain Akamai's global network. Working in a collaborative Network Operations Command Center environment, you will diagnose and solve server issues. You will continually develop your troubleshooting and deployment skills on some of the most complex network technologies in the world.

As a Platform Operations Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and proactive troubleshooting of Akamai's 24/7 platform, network traffic, threats and alerts

• Collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams to resolve platform affecting issues

• Administering automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security

• Ensuring platform issues are clearly tracked, updated and documented

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have knowledge of Linux and or Unix system administration

• Have a practical understanding of Computer Networks (routing/switching)

• Have a good knowledge of TCP/IP in internetworking communications

• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to gather, synthesize and summarize data

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Work in a way that works for you

Our 6-month intern program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December).

There are occasions where this role will require your presence in a local Akamai office (50% of the time).
