Objectives of the Position:

Our newly established “Plant Maintenance Web Solutions” team will provide innovative Web- and Mobile-based solutions to the BASF Verbund Plant in Zhanjiang, China with the intention of expanding this product on a global level. As the Lead Software Developer within this dynamic and Agile-based team, you will lead the overall architecture, design, development, testing and deployment of a complex solution, which we will continuously develop over the coming years.

  • has a high degree of customer orientation, and enjoys working with colleagues and partners

  • is experienced working in an Agile (Scrum) environment

  • be a “Reactive” thinker, and can design solutions for yourself or your team that simply works

  • writes and reviews code in a clear and concise manner

  • has working experience in creating user interfaces for enterprise applications

  • can transform existing business requirements into the right architecture

  • possesses in-depth knowledge in software development

  • has excellent command of written and spoken English, as you will be embedded in our global team and in direct contact with our internal business users

Main Tasks:

  • Be the front / customer facing technical expert with external partners to collaborate and challenge technical work i.e. outsourced development

  • Design and development of solutions for our users in the production plants

  • You will be able to explore on front-end, backend or developing mobile use cases

  • Continuous functional expansion of our web-based platform, including testing and maintenance

  • Definition and integration of interfaces to SAP and other systems

  • Implement and set the standard for best practices and technical processes to ensure good quality code and reviews are in place for the product.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory):

  • “Reactive Programming” with Angular 2 or higher (Must have: NGrX and RxJS for both web and mobile), Typescript

  • Familiar with SAP

  • Application Platform (CICD – Azure)

  • CSS Frameworks such as PrimeFlex

  • Continuous Integration & Delivery

  • Test-Driven Development

Technical & Professional Knowledge (nice to have):

  • PostgreSQL

  • NoSQL Mongo DB

  • Automation Testing tools (Selenium)

  • Data model design experience

  • Working experience with Azure DevOps

Minimum Education & Qualification Requirement:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics, Business Informatics or a comparable field; or

  • A tertiary degree with corresponding professional experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in a software engineering or similar capacity predominantly within a Web- and/or Mobile-based development area.

  • You must be able to communicate with openness, clarity and be proactive.

  • Have worked in multinational organisations and are familiar with complex and large matrix. Hence, must be open to calls in different timezones, however, work schedules are generally flexible and self managed.

  • Have a structured, collaborative and conscientious working style to act as a role model to the rest of the development team members and help to prioritise delivery for team members by understanding business demands and needs.
