Job Description:

Electronic Shop Lead

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Shop Lead with experience in Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems, RAPISCAN Systems, Vehicle Optical Sensor System (VOSS), Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), and other related electronic equipment. This position is located at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, and requires a candidate with a current and active Secret clearance.

As the Lead in Electronics Shop, the ideal candidate will lead other electronic technicians and coordinate between programs to ensure objectives are met and required tasks are completed. The candidate will be self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions while making command decisions to achieve organizational goals. Specific systems may include but are not limited to AN/VLQ-12 CREW Duke system, vehicle-mounted Duke V2, Warlock jammers, Duke V3 vehicle-mounted jammer, Ground Auto-Targeting Observation/Reactive Jammer (GATOR) V2, baggage, parcel and people scanners, and full maintenance, installs, and de-installs of VOSS systems. The candidate will oversee the repair and operations of radio systems. Work may be conducted outdoors, with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms and high temperatures up to 130°F in the summer months.

How the Electronic Shop Lead will make an impact:

  • Ensure the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, fixing network issues, and updating equipment and software.

  • Provide routine technical support for personnel repairing and servicing networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.

  • Train associates and users on proper use of hardware and software.

  • Guide basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.

  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.

  • Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Evaluate existing systems and assist with long-term planning strategies.

  • Supervise and inspect system components, perform preventive maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)/component.

  • Manage logistics support requirements such as research, equipment, and spare part inventories.

  • Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams.

  • Develop integration plans and perform hardware integrations.

  • Interact professionally, diplomatically, and tactfully with all levels of the organization.

  • Multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.

  • Work with minimal supervision, document maintenance tasks via local or web-based reporting systems and provide system functional briefings to customers and supervisors.

  • Train personnel at installation sites in the proper use of highly specialized electronic equipment.

  • Perform all other assigned duties.

  • Coordinate between programs to ensure objectives are met and required tasks are completed.

  • May be required to travel to multiple locations within SWA.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • BA/BS or equivalent, 10+ years of experience.

  • Completion of CRC and full issue of PPE is mandatory.

  • Able to meet Kuwait government requirements for assignment in Kuwait.

  • Currently, Kuwait has a 48-hour work week.

  • Current and active Secret clearance and US passport.

  • Must receive a Kuwait VISA 18

The likely salary range for this position is $116,979 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
