The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Computer Aided Drafting Specialist (Infrastructure CAD Designer) to support our government customer located in Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide as-built drawings for all requirements under NEC Baseline support and Mission support as required.

  • Design and build Infrastructure diagrams of piping, cabling, and instrumentation.

  • Update rack elevations, network diagrams, and butterfly/shadow diagrams.

  • Work with DPW team to gain access to their records and add red line changes as needed.

  • Work with infrastructure technicians on site to observe and capture changes that will be added to diagrams as designs change.

  • Work independently to update existing diagrams as needed.

  • Maintain to-scale drawings in the current version of AutoCAD that include such information as cable vault size, maintenance hole butterflies, duct configuration, splice connections, and cable placement, distances, type, size, and identifiers.

  • Maintain/utilize Army systems as the only official source for managing and storing engineering drawings, as tasked by the COR.

  • Maintain an electronic and hard copy plant-in-place (PIP) drawing library using AutoCAD. Maintain PIP drawing library in native AutoCAD and Adobe PDF formats.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Associate’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience developing telecommunication and engineering-based drawings, or a high school diploma and five (5) years of experience.

  • Associate Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience developing telecommunication and engineering-based drawings, or a high school diploma and five (5) years of experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing Infrastructure telecommunication and engineering-based drawings.

  • Completion of an AutoCAD course preferred

  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient with AutoCAD.

  • Experience in DoD IT environment preferred.

  • Experience with Visio preferred.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to relocate and reside at the U.S. Army Garrison – Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (USAG-KA).  To enter the Republic of the Marshall Islands, you must meet current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19. 

  • Pre-employment health screening is required due to remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities on the island.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • SECRET security clearance to access classified information.
