EAGLE CREST SOUTH Cook / Cook Assistant in LA CROSSE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Cook / Cook Assistant Eagle Crest Communities is seeking a Cook and Cook Assistant to join our top-notch culinary team at our Eagle Crest South facility. In these roles they will provide a high-quality dining experience for residents by not only cooking but serving attractive and nutritious meals. What You\'ll Do: - Duties include quantity cooking, dish room duties, cleaning duties, serving resident\'s meals, restocking and other kitchen responsibilities. - Responsible for the daily preparation of fresh-made recipes such as salads, sandwiches and other Bistro items, as well as stocking items in the Bistro area as needed - Preparing supplies for cooking line and restocking diminished stock as needed, assist with baking and preparing desserts What You\'ll Need: - Ability to multitask - Comfortability working in a fast-paced environment - Quantity cooking experience, a plus but not required - One year of cooking experience in a long-term care, hospital, or restaurant setting preferred but not required - We will train the right fit for our team! - Valid driver\'s license with clean driving record; this position will occasionally require transporting meals to other communities. Other Responsibilities of Job: Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure food safety. Rotate and store food supplies. Cook foodstuffs according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served. Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment. Apportion and serve food to facility residents, employees, or patrons. Clean and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry. Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. Train new employees. Take inventory of supplies and equipment. Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances, based on estimates of future needs. Bake breads, rolls, or other pastries. Monitor use of government food commodities to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability. Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically.
