APTIV Day Service Associate in LA CROSSE, Wisconsin

Responsibilities: As a Day Service Associate, no two days will ever be the same. Your work will fall into 1 of 3 categories throughout the day: Group Staff, 1:1 Staff, or Support Staff. Our Day Service Associates receive over 40 hours of training initially and 8+ hours of annual training in topics such as Active Treatment, Cultural Competency, Back Safety and Safe Lifting, Crisis Management, Disability Awareness, and more. As a Group Staff, you will lead groups through discussion and different projects of varying topics like Art, Exercise and wellness, Cooking, Science, Music, Community Inclusion, and more. You will accomplish this by bringing your ideas and creativity together with a pre-made curriculum and resources to engage participants during their group block. As a 1:1 staff, you will work with 1 or 2 participants on specific skills or routines both independently and as part of a group. Participants working with 1:1 staff need additional support either medically or behaviorally to be successful in programming. Staff assigned in Support Categories are scheduled to support the program as a whole, this could be providing breaks for others, aiding in Personal Care and/or Range of Motion, cleaning, and more.
