WorkSource Oregon Diesel Mechanic Technician in La Grande, Oregon
The technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance needs for a variety of units. The duties include trouble-shooting, diagnostics, repair, provide routine maintenance advice, service and keep accurate records of a variety of agricultural equipment. Requirements: * Must have own tools. * Valid driver\'s license. * 3 years equipment repair experience preferred. * Diesel Mechanic Certification preferred. Duties: * Run diagnostic tests and analyze results. * Repair or replace all components of machinery including engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems. * Perform preventative maintenance. * Assist with and/or complete customer complaints as well as other repairs identified during the diagnostic process. * Develop technical skills through training opportunities. * Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers\' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required. * Ensure the cleanliness of the shop. * Interact with customers, listen to their questions and concerns and provide timely responses. * Assist dealership with achieving industry standards including attaining and maintaining certification ratings. * Assist shop staff as needed. * Other duties as assigned. Work Hours: * Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. * Occasionally work will be required outside of the normal business hours. Wage: * \$18 - \$25 per hour, negotiable depending on experience and CDL license. * Merit based raises. * Employee discount.
