Description

Robert Half is partnering with a local manufacturing company that is in need in a temporary Sr. Accountant. This is a temporary need that is estimated to last 6 months+. The position is a Sr. Accountant, focusing primarily on managing and analyzing financial records and reports, performing complex accounting activities, and working on financial procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly reports concerning budget vs actuals, cash flow, customer quotes/sales order volume, revenue by customer/region/product, backlog detail, COGS analysis, and working capital

• Perform weekly and monthly journal entries including commission payouts and accrual true up

• Conduct monthly reporting and journal entries for bad debt analysis, rebate accrual, freight analysis and capitalization, inventory reserve analysis, product line reporting, purchasing analysis, and margin analysis

• Execute bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records

• Handle additional ad-hoc projects and reporting as necessary, including but not limited to pricing sensitivity analysis, positive pay technology enhancement, bar code scanner implementation, and pricing process documentation

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, QuickBooks, Cash Flow Analysis, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for daily accounting operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding of General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in QuickBooks

• Ability to perform Cash Flow Analysis

• Familiarity with the calculation of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and handling Commissions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team
