ManpowerGroup Project Procurement Lead in Lake Zurich, Illinois

The Project Procurement Lead proactively monitors, manages, and maintains critical supply chain activities for all projects throughout the entire life cycle of the project. Develops weekly proactive status reports to the Project Manager for all engineering and buyer opportunities to harness for the project. Represents the key cost savings driver as the materials project manager for all assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure development of standard designs which must be used to minimize cost in design.

  • Oversee engineering standard designs are used, ensure growth suppliers are used, ensure effort is made in design to align to lowest cost manufacturing of weldments and components while meeting project requirements.

  • For large third-party suppliers, review supplier proposals and work with suppliers to ensure the lowest cost compliant solution as well as clear criteria and specifications for acceptance and testing

  • Research and develop strategic relationships with suppliers

  • Maintain a standard design & preferred parts list and use it to drive selection of common parts and design features across multiple projects.

  • Work closely with Project Management to drive buyers on material to be ordered on time according to schedules, and critical items and issues are identified ahead of time to actively monitor and maintain a successful supply chain operation.

  • Escalate issues to the Supply Chain leadership where necessary and provide project status updates when required.

  • Perform to project KPIs for material costs and on-time

  • Process, manage and provide status on orders for all 3rd party equipment

  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.

  • Highlight key risks to the department and Project Management for timelines, costs, specification issues, etc.

  • Resolve discrepancies with suppliers regarding missing material, paperwork, etc.

Additional Information

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering, equivalent Purchasing and Supply Chain degree or experience.

  • Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word, Project, and other MS Office software.

  • Theoretical and hands-on knowledge of purchasing and material planning concepts.

  • Proven organizational, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact in a team environment.
