This position is on-site/hybrid with 50% travel as needed between Chappaqua, New York and Middletown, New York. A qualified applicant must be local to this area!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning execution and delivery of projects related to UNIX/Linux and VMware.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Oversee the technical implementation of solutions in the Payer Claims Medicare and Medicaid Claims domains.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices for VMWare vRealize Automation and VMWare Vsphere.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project success, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide training and support to team members on VMWare technologies and domain-specific knowledge.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the Payer Claims Medicare and Medicaid Claims domains.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes innovation and excellence.

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks
  • Cloud experience in Azure is a nice to have.
  • Possess a deep understanding of VMWare vRealize Automation and VMWare Vsphere.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in the Payer Claims Medicare and Medicaid Claims domains.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Have a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
  • Display the ability to lead and mentor team members fostering their professional growth.
  • Hold a relevant certification in VMWare technologies such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional).

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$52,000] - [$120,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
