The Department of Pathology at Lancaster General Hospital is seeking a qualified ABCC board eligible/ board certified PhD, or AP/ CP or CP-only board certified MD/DO to join an expanding group of nine pathologists.

The Department of Pathology department currently consists of nine AP/CP- boarded pathologists with various subspecialty fellowships and a clinical microbiologist. The clinical laboratory runs approximately 4 million tests annually. The incumbent will have oversight of chemistry, immunology, toxicology, and urinalysis testing, and will work collaboratively with the hematopathology team to oversee general coagulation and automated hematology testing. We seek a candidate with good communication and relational skills who can bring additional breadth and strength to our group. This role will function as a laboratory liaison on hospital and system-wide committees related to core lab testing as appropriate. The candidate will also perform as a CLIA lab director of various waived or moderate complexity testing sites.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Clinical / Biochemistry or related clinical science

  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospital experience.

  • Lean/Six sigma or other performance improvement training.

  • Member AACC (American Association of Clinical Chemists)

  • Experience with Hospital and/or Laboratory Information Systems
