SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Staking Technician to join our team in our Langley, WA office. This role is critical for designing and maintaining Whidbey Telecom's Fiber, copper, and conduit networks. This position requires using detailed maps for engineering projects and utilizing various technical tools and software. The successful candidate will assist in accurately depicting physical layouts for various infrastructure projects, ensuring data integrity and aiding in the planning and executing engineering tasks.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT NECESSARILY BE LIMITED TO:
Process Service Requests (estimates) to hand off to our construction estimator with relevant information and an attached map.
Produce staking sheets using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Design customer drop placements in designated fiber/copper networks.
Upload staking sheets and other relevant documents to the appropriate vault locations within the mapping and staking systems.
Read and apply splitter configurations and port and strand designations for feed and splitters.
Maintain and update customer address records.
Gather and analyze mapping data from sources, including satellite imagery, existing maps, field observations, Island County Records, and Parcel Information.
