Overnight Facilities Manager in
Lansing, Michigan
- Achieve and maintain a full understanding of L&F, including its vision, purpose, and core values.
- Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of issues pertaining to homelessness.
- Monitor the facility, people entering and exiting the building, and ensure the safety of all individuals at the shelter.
- Monitor security equipment, such as security cameras and alarm systems.
- Regular rounds to check safety of property and all individuals.
- Provide assistance to guests, including preparing meals, doing laundry and providing basic necessities.
- Ensure all guests in the shelter are following L&F rules and policies.
- Respond to any emergency situations that may arise.
- Document any incidents or situations that occur for other staff to address.
- Cleaning and general maintenance as instructed.
- Ensure that guests have vacated the shelter by the designated time each morning.
- Attend and contribute to regular meetings with the Executive Director and/or other staff regarding execution of and updates to the duties outlined above.
- Participate in staff meetings and activities as needed.
- Attend special events, meetings, workshops, conferences, and training opportunities as required.
- Submit written summaries of work activities and results as needed.
- Follow all L&F processes and procedures.
- Ensure guest confidentiality.
- Complete all tasks in a timely manner as dictated by L&F and each specific situation.
- Work in a professional manner with the Executive Director/L&F staff, guests, volunteers, and emergency/first-responder personnel/community members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
