SELECT ENGINEERING SERVICES Logistics Technician I and II in LAYTON, Utah

Job Summary

Select Engineering Services (SES) is seeking to hire multiple Logistics Technicians (full-time and part-time positions available). Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience with Technical Orders (TOs), Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), JEDMICS drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), Parts Lists and other technical data formats used by the Department of Defense (DoD). All relevant combinations of education and experience will be considered. The intent is for the hired candidates to grow into and fill long-term roles on the SES team.    

Background

SES is an employee-owned small business providing engineering and technical services to DoD customers. The listed position requires that the successful candidate provide support for Logistics data analyses, updates, and revisions. Many opportunities for learning and development of data management skills are expected.

Representative Duties

Primary and Secondary Duties/Expectations will include:

·         Microsoft 365 tools and applications (particular emphasis on Excel)

·         Screening of IPBs to identify and address errors

·         Data mining, errata discovery, correction and documentation formatting

·         Technical reviews of performance specifications, data sheets, and technical drawings

·         Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) and Shop Replaceable Unit (SRU) assessments

·         Analyze supportability of obsolete or unknown items in BOMs

·         Incorporate market survey information to assess long term supportability

·         Pursue logistic resolutions to parts obsolescence

·         Assist in the preparation of reports and source documentation

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of USAF, DoD, or DLA data sources: TOs, IPBs, JEDMICS, BOMs, Parts Lists and other source documents
  • Working knowledge of indenturing or configuration management of DoD technical data
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately read and understand technical documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools and applications, with demonstrated Excel proficiency
  • Experience in data mining
  • Familiar with WebFLIS - FEDLOG data
  • Experience in accessing, utilizing, interpreting, and preparing recommended changes to Government owned technical data
