Controller - Integrated Solutions

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

KBR is looking for a Controller of Integrated Solutions to work from our Leatherhead office.

Position Responsibilities:

The Controller of Integrated Solutions is responsible for the financial operations and reporting of the Integrated Solutions business unit. The focus of which is the Company’s expanding portfolio of engineering projects executed across a broad geographical footprint.

This business unit has annual global revenue of approximately $1BN.

KBR are seeking an individual who ideally has experience of working with a projects-based business, familiarity with US GAAP, and experience developing and coaching a high-performing team spread across multiple locations.

This individual will work cross-functionally to challenge, understand and provide foresight of risks and opportunities to project performance. A deep understanding of project billing and accounting process will be developed as well as system structures and inter-dependencies. Through this understanding they will provide valuable business insight around delivered and forecast performance to Operations, acting as a true business partner.

The right individual will have the ability to work across the Sustainable Technology Solutions in supporting the delivery of finance strategy, including standardization initiatives and the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics implementation.

  • Experience working within the day-to-day financial operations of an organisation, including technical, practical and leadership experience.

  • Experience in leading a global team as well as providing coaching and training.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational monitoring and improvements including:

  • Management of working capital of the business units through an excellent understanding of the order to cash process

  • Management of utilisation of staff

  • Installs and maintain sound technical accounting practices, including proactive identification, evaluation, escalation, and conclusion/documentation of complex and/or judgmental areas in compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS (relevant local GAAP).

  • Successful development, enhancement, and maintenance of all internal controls. Drive compliance and governance in day-to-day activities and ensure compliance with SOX and anti-corruption requirements.

  • Close coordination, partnership and alignment with leadership and functions of projects, including commercial, project controls (specifically EAC production) and supply chain to enable project objectives to be achieved.

  • Ownership of the business unit balance sheet; understanding the drivers, timing and predictability with which they will impact the P&L

  • Oversight of reconciliations, integrations and disclosures for the business unit; influences key Stakeholders where there are critical dependencies

  • Support multi-location finance team spanning sites, home offices and support centres.

  • Be an active member of the Integrated Solutions Finance Leadership Team driving and shaping process improvements and leading by example.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Accounting qualification required

  • A relevant number of years relevant experience in accounting, finance, or FP&A. Project accounting experience desirable and public accounting experience preferred
