Title: Associate Director, Operations

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated person to lead several key operations functions for Adimab. This includes oversight of procurement and maintenance of lab supplies and equipment, lab and building safety, warehouse and inventory management, and catering and building operations.  This is both a strategic and hands-on functional position which requires a background in laboratory operations and a proven ability to lead. Strong organizational and project management skills are required.  Demonstrated capacity to successfully supervise a variety of employees is critical.

This position requires the ability to multitask and troubleshoot problems in addition to completing ongoing projects.  Successful candidates must have an understanding of the operation of laboratory equipment, preferably in biology or analytic laboratories. The Associate Director of Operations must build strong professional relationships with scientific staff and other internal stakeholders along with numerous service providers to ensure smooth operations of the laboratory and building. Must be able to excel in a dynamic environment, be highly collaborative, self-motivated, and adaptable.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead several operations functions at Adimab

  • Collaborate to create operations strategy

  • Responsible for lab and building safety. Determine appropriate safety procedures, training, and modifications. Oversee implementation of identified safety initiatives and requirements. Collaborate with the internal safety committee

  • Collaborate with the Facilities and Building Contractor, especially during this time of campus expansion

  • Oversee the Procurement and Equipment Manager. Ensure that procurement and maintenance processes are efficient and thoughtful, liaise with the finance team as needed, and provide strategic direction 

  • Oversee the Warehouse Manager who is responsible for Adimab’s warehouse which includes lab supplies and cold storage. Ensure that inventory is appropriately tracked and maintained

  • Supervise the Catering and Office Coordinator who is responsible for catering and food requests and general office coordination

  • Partner with colleagues at Adimab’s Mountain View CA office to support operational needs of that team

    Needed upon hire:

  • BA/ BS in science or related field

  • 10 years prior relevant experience - lab operations, project management, scientific work preferably in the biotech industry

  • Experience managing staff and the work of contractors

  • Proven technology fluency and confidence learning and implementing new systems 

  • Experience negotiating with and selecting vendors

  • Demonstrated clear and professional verbal and written communication

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a matrix environment

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
