Ancestry.com Operations Inc. has an opening for a Software Engineer-Java (#SWE188) in Lehi, Utah. Details are as follows:
JOB DUTIES: Develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and data analysis for monitoring the health and availability of software applications. Apply knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design. Design and implement microservices and serverless applications via technologies such as Java, SQL, and Python to build both customer-facing and internal tools as per requirements. Leverage knowledge of AWS technologies such as Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation/Terraform/CDK, AuroraDB, DynamoDB to build and contribute to the evaluation, and continuous improvement of existing internal tools. Use and enhance Cloud APM and logging tools, such as AWS CloudWatch / NewRelic. Analyze production performance using the tools to solve existing software problems and performance issues. Train and support internal teams in the usage of internal tools, processes, and solutions
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related discipline, or foreign equivalent, and one year of experience in the job offered or in a closely related position.

Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:
• Java • AWS Cloud such as Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, AuroraDB, or DynamoDB • Monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch or NewRelic • Infrastructure -As-Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform
