Responsible for: Converting the customers’ orders into realistic production schedules and then driving Operations management to achieve production target.
Supported by: Product Management Team, Production Managers
We are seeking to recruit a Master Production Scheduler with strong leadership and influencing skills. Must be determined, able to challenge the status quo and able to adopt a flexible approach in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. Must be a self-starter who can identify the requirements of the business and work closely with the operations management team to drive the achievement of specific targets. Must be an organised person who employs a structured approach. The aim is to provide a high quality fastener and an effective service to the customer and the Company.
To ensure all customer demand is managed to ensure efficient and effective planning of production requirements to optimize stock levels and customer satisfaction through timely release of work orders, control of raw materials.
Key duties and responsibilities
Sales Management
To support Product Manager with loading of sales orders / schedules
To review demand profile in line with TOC (Theory of Constraints) families and liaise with customers to level load order profiles as far as possible.
To ensure all customer requirements are efficiently and effectively planned and scheduled to achieve on time delivery.
To manage communication with customers regarding critical parts, ensuring accurate information is presented in a timely manner.
To support Logistics Manager with weekly Order Book reviews with key customers.
Production Planning
To generate production and capacity plans that are communicated and reviewed with production.
To analyse TOC charts and review with Production Management daily to ensure flow of work is optimised through constraint processes to maximise throughput.
To communicate daily and weekly with production in relation to any changes, forward load and capacity requirements identifying any possible issues and solutions
To manage the flow of work through Quality and into Despatch
Continuously analyse the system data, ensuring accuracy at all times. Examples of parameters include safety stock, work centre queue times, subcontract lead times WIP date alignment.
To maintain the ERP system, ensuring MRP is regularly updated and the recommendations are analysed and appropriate actions taken.
Raw Material and Sub-Con Forecasting
Provide an accurate signal to ensure long term raw material purchasing is efficient.
Provide cover for other members of the logistics team when required.
To identify, prioritise, manage and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in line with world class manufacturing.
To champion and manage specific improvement projects to deliver Quality, Cost, Delivery and People Objectives
Minimum of 5 years experience of production scheduling preferred
