STS Internship Program, Belgium.

The intention of this program is to provide real-world internship experience. It supports students with topics related to simulation software, testing systems, and customer practices. Domains include system dynamics, structural integrity, flow-thermal analysis, control systems, reliability, acoustics, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the internships align with the academic programs of the most prestigious technical universities in Belgium and the EU. This ensures support for ongoing innovation activities and hands-on experience with simulation models.

At the conclusion of the program, interns become part of the SIEMENS Software Early Careers network. This will give them visibility for our graduate programs and associate positions globally.

Modalities

The STS Internship Program follows the needs of our research and support teams at the facilities in Leuven, Belgium. Under this same umbrella, students can take the internship in the following modalities:

  • Academic internship for a bachelor’s or master’s degree (3-6 months)

  • Thesis research project (3-4 months)

  • Summer internship (2 months)

  • Student jobs (depending on assignment)

The interns of the STS Internship Program

The interns of the STS Internship Program have varied academic backgrounds, which change depending on the needs of projects and research, updated every year quarter. Individuals studying for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, Robotics, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar fields are eligible. To join, it is indispensable to be creative, possess problem-solving abilities, have strong interpersonal skills, and have an intrinsic interest in Simulation & Test Software Technologies.

Requirements for the applicants

  • Interns must be enrolled in a university within the European Union and remain enrolled for the entirety of their internship period, ensuring eligibility to intern in the EU. (EU Nationals / International Students under an EU student visa)

  • Candidates must complete the STS Internship Program questionnaire.

  • Strong command of English (spoken and written) and enjoyment in communicating ideas and collaborating.

  • Knowledgeable about and/or interested in simulation technologies.

  • SIEMENS DISW follows export control procedures for sensitive technologies; hence, interns undergo background checks like normal employees and can be vetted on this basis.

Important information of the STS Internship Program

The STS Internship Program evaluates applicants on a case-by-case basis. All interested students must complete the necessary fields and screening questions as accurately as possible and upload their most recent CV in a format supported by the system (PDF or Word).

The owners of the program will create vacancies based on the talent pool of applicants; hence, this is not an application for a specific role.
