The Account Manager is responsible for managing sales activity, coordinating service for and strengthening strategic relationships with specific key accounts within Conner’s Integrated Packaging Division (IPD).

Conner Industries has continued to build a strong reputation in the industrial lumber and wood / multi-material packaging market. It is a multi-site, national manufacturing company comprised of two divisions: Industrial Lumber and Integrated Packaging (IPD). The Account Manager will work in the IPD

Full time located in central Tennessee. Can be based in home office but would be required to report weekly to main plant location in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Ideally, the home office would be near Nashville.

Travel – 25% overnight travel in South Central US, 50% day travel in central Tennessee area

Salary Range $75,000-$100,000/yr + Bonus

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Partners with IPD Business Development Managers on the transition and “hand off” of key accounts

  • Identifies additional opportunities within existing IPD accounts.

  • Builds and nurtures strong relationships with assigned accounts.

  • Builds and implements strategies to bring expansion sales opportunities to a close.

  • Leads, coordinates and executes day-to-day customer delivery activities between the customer and Conner’s operations, customer service, design and purchasing teams.

  • Manages price agreements with customers on monthly or quarterly basis to ensure margin protection and competitive pricing.

  • Leads redesign and cost take out projects in conjunction with the customer, Conner purchasing, design and operations teams.

  • Directly responds to customers for delivery, service, quality and administrative problems and leads and coordinates internal efforts to quickly solve them.

  • Develops and executes annual account management plans to ultimately meet Conner’s customer service objectives.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent.

  • 5+ years sales and account management experience and/or training within the industrial, transport or protective packaging industry. Direct experience in corrugate, foam or wood packaging a plus.

  • Proven multi-site account management experience building relationships with high- level customer contacts.

  • Proven track record of attaining quotas.

  • Experience partnering with outside sales professionals, internal operational and design teammates.

  • Experience managing pricing, costs and margins.

  • Experience in assessing and resolving quality issues.

  • Microsoft Office intermediate skill level with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Exceptional presentation skills and interpersonal effectiveness.
