POSITION SUMMARY:

The Loan Servicing Team lead Consumer assumesresponsibilities for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the loan servicing team in Maine.This role plays a key part to ensure the compliance and operations requirements of the Mortgage, Home Equity, Consumer and Collateral Loans originated by the Community Bank are met.Theteam leadmanages the workflow, oversees escrow tracking and payments, monitors consumer paid loans, supervises flood tracking, and addresses other consumer-related servicing issues.\

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Loan Servicing Manager in managing day-to-day operations, including workflow coordination, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
  • Update daily and weekly rates to the core system, ensuring accurate and timely information is available.
  • Review exception reports on a regular basis, identifying and addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with the consumer process for HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) conversions, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Handle MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems) discharges, ensuring all documentation and processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of consumer paid loans, resolving any issues related to payments, account closures, or loan reconciliations.
  • Provide copies of documentation for audits of consumer files, ensuring all requested information is compiled accurately and delivered promptly.
  • Oversees flood tracking process to ensure the vendor is in compliance with regulations and bank has proper coverage for properties in flood-prone areas.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and audit requirements. Identify areas of risk and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Actively participate in meetings related to bank-wide Loan Servicing growth strategy.
  • Create and/or review servicing procedures for compliance.
  • Regularly review processes to ensure departmental efficiency and compliance.
  • Successfully complete technical and regulatory examinations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks by organizing and setting priorities.
  • High School diploma.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in consumer loan servicing, with a thorough understanding of loan products, servicing processes, and regulatory requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
  • Consistently operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printers.
  • Climate controlled general office setting with moderate noise level.
  • Must express or exchange ideas and meaning with co-workers, supervisors, customers and vendors.
