Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Pompano Beach, Florida area. The role involves various accounting functions such as journal entries, QuickBooks management, bank reconciliations, tax processing, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

• Handle daily bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, adjusting journal entries, and general ledger management.

• Utilize QuickBooks to manage and process financial transactions.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.

• Manage tax processes, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Assist in the preparation of financial compilations and reviews.

• Collaborate with other team members to improve financial processes and procedures.

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data.

• Resolve any discrepancies or issues relating to financial reports.

• File tax returns including forms 1040, 1041, 6065, 1020, 1120, among others.

•Perform payroll functions.

Requirements

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Thomson Reuters software is necessary

• Must possess a strong understanding of General Ledger

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required

• Must be able to manage Journal Entries effectively

• Knowledge of Tax procedures and practices is essential

• A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is desirable

• Prior experience in a Staff Accountant role is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles

• CPA preferred, or CPA eligible

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems
