We are seeking motivated and versatile individuals to join our Technology Operations, working with our key internal and external customers with the latest in MineStar technologies, as mining companies look to Caterpillar expertise to advise as best practices are implemented, and new procedures are developed.

As a MineStar Performance Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for developing and leveraging methodologies and tools to be used in monitoring, analyzing, controlling, documenting, and communicating performance for MineStar applications. This position will work with MineStar Performance Managers and Application Specialists to develop, maintain and ensure appropriate application of Best Practices in the field.. Being exposed to different applications, this position can be asked to assist other groups within Caterpillar by providing and/or analyzing data, cases, and others for new product development or continuous improvement projects. This role may also provide consulting services to dealers and customers such as site assessments, productivity studies, and mentoring & coaching that, once augmented by MineStar data, can provide valuable guidance for feasibility studies, continuous improvement projects, fleet expansion evaluation, amongst others.

Job Duties:

•Monitor, analyze, control, and document performance for MineStar applications.

•Chair Performance focused meetings with internal and external audiences to gather and discuss the performance trends and insights, documenting and sharing opportunities for improvement.

•Support site teams to identify common issues across sites that may be affecting performance, consolidating work effort, and providing consistent messaging back to engineering.

•Maintain operational playbooks up to date to reflect best practices leading to world’s-best performance.

•Develop training material and deliver mentoring/coaching sessions.

•Develop use cases from exposure to performance reviews, exposure to customer processes and application, or by collecting internal and external feedback.

•Develop requirements for new reports, dashboards, and applications for performance monitoring/analysis/control and track delivery on requirements.

•Collaborating with sales and product development teams to develop and execute an effective sales strategy for each new business opportunity.

•Become a trusted advisor for the customer through close collaboration internally and externally, driving customer recognition of the value of product feature design, improved processes, and change management.

•Conducting site audits and provide recommendations and serve as a recognized expert in mining operational technologies and value in use to customers and dealers.

Basic Qualifications:

•Be passionate about mining technology.

•Have Mining experience (+3y).

•Be comfortable with data science/analytics tasks.

•Cultivate a data-driven problem-solving culture.

•Be versatile to work with diverse themes (coding, analysis, validation, technical writing, coaching/training, project management, etc.).

•Experience with Dealers and customers

•Knowledge of MineStar or other mining technology products and product applications

•English Pre Advanced

Skills required:

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with customers.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

•Degree in Mining Engineering, IT, mining or similar working background.

•Experience with formal/informal training and/or technical writing.

•Portuguese intermediate listening & conversation skills.

•Ability to work following MST-US time-zone.

This position may require 25% travel .
