Who will you be working with?

Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join a well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.

Role: Senior Buyer

Salary: £Competitive

Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 16:15pm and Friday 08:30am to 15:45pm

Hybrid: Monday's and Friday's working from home following successful completion of probationary period

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for supplier category management, focusing on our core elements of quality, cost, lead time, and stocking policy adherence.

What will your typical day look like?

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.

• Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers.

• Introduce new products, working cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth introduction of new product lines.

What do we want to know about you?

• Flexibility with traveling, we will want you to regularly visit UK suppliers to maintain and develop relations, with the expectation also to visit suppliers in Europe and Asia.

• Ideally you will have CIPS Level 5.

• Experience working within a buying role, ideally from an Engineering business.

• Have a structured and organised approach with a keen eye for detail.

• Ability to create strong business relationships with both internal and external customers.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
