Assistant Paving Superintendent / Foreman (DOE)

Paving Foreman -Duties and responsibilities
• Knowledge and Support of Driver Safety & Risk Management program. Specifically responsible for contributing to care factor & culture of safety program with employees.
• Interact with customers as needed to understand expected scope of work and to develop and expand customer relationships.
• Evaluate and measure pavement to determine the scope of work as outlined on the work order.
• Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, equipment and utilize corrective action to keep the project on time and on budget.
• Engage in open communication with the Superintendent(s), and report any issues which could affect the project plan.
• Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Plan work in an efficient and effective order, maximizing progress in a safe and timely manner.
• Review and adhere to construction schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met.
• Ensure company equipment is operated, cared for, maintained and used effectively.
General responsibilities for all: You will be working outdoors in the summer months so temperatures can be extreme. Must not be afraid to operate a shovel or rake. Must have a valid driver's license with favorable motor vehicle record. Capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying heavy objects (50+ lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform physical labor under adverse conditions.
