Overview The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Utah State University seeks an individual to oversee and monitor evening student-athlete study hall for the Fall, 2024 and beyond. The Monitor will be responsible for the following:

Oversee the Study Center on specified days of the week which may include Sunday from 5:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM as well as Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Assure student-athletes are working on tasks, assignments etc.;
  • Direct student-athletes with tutoring and mentoring appointments as necessary;
  • Monitor activity in computer lab;
  • Keep talking, noise, socializing among students-athletes to a minimum;
  • Dismiss student-athletes from the facility as needed;
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with Study Hall Supervisor and others as directed;
  • Document issues and warnings appropriately.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Maturity in personality and demeanor
  • Professional demeanor
  • Attention to punctuality
  • Ability to exert authority when necessary
  • Ability to work evenings and Sundays Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline

  • Previous experience interacting with student-athletes
  • Working knowledge of computer basics

Advertised Salary $10.00-$15.00 per hour

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
