Overview Utah State University seeks an accomplished and collaborative nurse educator to join our nursing faculty at the Logan, Utah campus. The successful candidate will have a solid background in nursing education and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within teams. Primary duties are teaching (90%) and service (10%).

This is a non-tenure track, nine-month academic year position at the Professional Practice Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level beginning January 1, 2025. Review of applicants will begin in September 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities This position fills the role of a faculty member within the USU Nursing Program. The successful candidate will provide concept-based instruction in undergraduate (BSN) courses. Areas of expected expertise include both classroom and online teaching, with experience in teaching and leadership and management. Experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing is a plus. Responsibilities include educational instruction using current methodologies and technologies, grading examinations, discussions, and assignments within prescribed deadlines, professional engagement, curriculum development, and service. The position is located at USUs main campus in Logan, UT.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • An earned Masters or Doctorate degree in nursing
  • Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A record of significant, excellent in-person and online nursing teaching
  • Licensed registered nurse in the State of Utah or a Nurse Licensure Compact state
  • Demonstrated ability in teamwork, interpersonal, organizational, and technological skills
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and collaborative environment that supports faculty, students, and the work of the department and university Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in healthcare leadership and management

  • Expertise or interest in teaching mental health
  • Certified Nurse Educator or national nursing certification
  • Experience with higher education accreditation processes
  • Experience in concept-based instruction and student-centered learning
  • A minimum of three years of faculty experience in a higher education nursing program
  • Evidence of involvement in ones professional area (i.e., membership in professional organizations, presentations, and/or publications)
