JOB OVERVIEW

InvesTech is an integrated team of business operation and technology experts working together to drive Wellington’s innovation and operational edge to meet or exceed the investment and service expectations for our clients and business partners worldwide. The role of Business Risk Analyst (“Analyst”) is within the InvesTech Risk and Control s T eam which is part of the first line of defense for InvesTech and aims to support each business team in their risk management, controls design and risk & controls monitoring processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across teams and lines of defense on risk identification, measurement, analysis, monitoring and reporting of risk and control relevant business processes

  • Understand business operations processes (e.g. Investment Guideline Monitoring or Client Service Operations) and identify gaps and defines solutions

  • Identify areas of improvement from a control or risk perspective based on incident and near miss analysis

  • Apply judgement to support process owners in improving their control environment by highlighting weaknesses in control design or operating effectiveness

  • Provide maintenance for InvesTech specific risk and control procedures and controls

  • Support the training and education across InvesTech on risk management standards and processes

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across teams and lines of defense on implementing visualization efforts through tableau, risk data sharing and other risk infrastructure build out

  • Understand project controls and with ability to define project criteria

  • Document and clarify requirements, specifications of processes and recommend solutions

  • Risk metric managementacross control, risk, and process performance indicators by being the key contact for InvesTech teams and maintain oversight

  • Maintain and optimize risk metric across business activities to enhance efficiencies and speed for risk-based decision making

  • Data aggregation and analysis through the leverage and design business risk and control data such as incident, issue, process exception, KRI, KPI information for risk and business decision purposes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years or more of work experience in either operations or risk related roles within financial services or ideally asset management

  • 3 years or more of experience in project or process managementwith data affinity

  • Ability and affinity to move between detail orientated and big picture frameworks

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks

  • A strong team player, with ability to work in collaboration across teams

  • Intellectual curiosity and interest to learn independently and from peers
