Purpose of the Job

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery and oversight of Technology Infrastructure / Whitespace projects across multiple Business Units.

Additionally, the Senior Project Manager supports and manages the Technology Infrastructure relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and project leader to grow the business relationship and Technology offerings within Data Centre Solutions.

The Senior Project Manager will ensure alignment between the account organisation and other departments within Data Centre Solutions to maximize value creation and ensure excellence in project delivery by providing direction and oversight to enable business unit and account teams to positively contribute and comprehensively manage the fulfilment of our commitment to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfil the role of Technology Infrastructure & Whitespace Senior Project Manager to deliver Technology Infrastructure projects.

  • Prepare design solutions, estimates and tender proposals for Technology Infrastructure & Whitespace projects across multiple Business Units throughout our Global Accounts division.

  • Collaborate with our clients and key internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood and a scalable, cost-effective solution is proposed.

  • Ensure all designs adheres to industry, regulatory and regional standards.

  • Support and manage all Technology Infrastructure relationships both internally & externally.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and project leader to grow business relationships and CBRE’s Technology offerings within Data Centre Solutions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry leading manufacturers and distributors ensuring the Technology Infrastructure team is at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Promote alignment between the client’s organisation and other departments within Data Centre Solutions to maximize value creation and ensure excellence in project delivery.

  • Provide direction and oversight as an SME to enable business unit and account teams to positively contribute and comprehensively manage the fulfilment of our commitment to the client.

  • Support Global Accounts Whitespace team from project conception to handover.

  • Represents Data Centre Solutions best interests externally and internally to Global Workplace Solutions.

  • Strategic interpreter of needs and identifier of new value-added services.

  • Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities and in delivering contractual commitments on secured projects.

  • Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of projects are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability.

  • Ensure compliance with CBRE project management policies and procedures.

  • Working with other operational teams to ensure the collaborative development of the projects business with effective team working and support of colleagues.

  • Promoting and maintaining the core Values of CBRE.

  • Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate.

  • Supporting the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings.

Personnel Specification

Education

  • Strong IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft applications – i.e. Word, Excel. PowerPoint etc.

  • Good basic education to GCSE (or equivalent standard), which will include an English and Maths qualification.

  • RCDD, CNIDP, CDCDP, CTPM, Prince II

Experience

  • Proven design & solution experience from a Whitespace / Technology Infrastructure background (specifically copper & fibre structured cabling systems & whitespace fit out).

  • Experience of producing exceptional quality design documentation (AutoCAD drawings, cabinet frame layouts, defining & documenting cable routes, detailed bill of materials etc.).

  • Existing relationships with key manufacturers & distributors.

  • Existing relationships with relevant end users including data centre colocation providers.

  • Well-developed communication skills enabling the individual to work with senior managers, project teams, customers, suppliers, and staff of all levels and abilities.

  • AptitudesDriven by targets and comfortable in a fast-paced busy projects team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail conscious and methodical in approach.

Character

  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of customer focus and promote a sense of team spirit within the office.

  • Must be able to influence others and engender confidence in senior managers through both face-to-face, telephone and written communication.

  • Self-motivated. Able to prioritise demands and make decisions under pressure. Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to other areas of the business on occasions, as required.

  • as in a team.

Circumstances

Must be flexible to work outside core office hours from time to time, and willing to travel when required.
